Monday – Friday   |   8:00–11:00 AM   and   1:00–4:00 PM

Our Permit Center provides coordinated, professional support for all residential and commercial development in Atherton. We bring together three core departments—Planning, Building, and Public Works—to offer a single point of service for project review, permitting, and guidance. Whether you are starting a new project, seeking information, or completing final approvals, our staff is here to help ensure a smooth and efficient process.

Our public counter is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00–11:00 a.m. and 1:00–4:00 p.m. We encourage visitors to arrive early within each service window to allow sufficient time for consultation and review.

Building Department    

Building permits, inspections, code compliance, and construction standards.

Planning Department

Land use review, zoning, design, and long-range planning services.

Public Works Department    

Encroachment permits, engineering review, right-of-way, and infrastructure services.
