[ARCHIVED] Atherton Police Department Supports Special Olympics

APD Logo Blue

Dear Atherton Residents:

Today, the Atherton Department of Police participated in the annual Special Olympics Torch Run, along El Camino Real, for the 27th consecutive year!  This is an incredible opportunity for our officers and professional support staff to show their support for the amazing Special Olympics athletes who demonstrate courage, determination, and sportsmanship every day.

The Special Olympics Torch Run is more than just a relay.  It is a powerful movement that unites law enforcement officers from across the globe in a shared mission to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics.  By carrying the Flame of Hope, our officers symbolized their commitment to inclusion, respect, and the transformative power of sports.

If you would like to make a donation to support the Special Olympics, please visit https://sonc.org/.  Every contribution, no matter the size, helps provide essential resources and opportunities for these remarkable athletes.

The Torch Run is a testament to the power of unity and the positive impact we can have when we come together for a worthy cause.  The members of your Police Department are very proud to continue our support of Special Olympics athletes.
