On 12/29/2025, one individual was arrested due to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated during the police department’s driver license and sobriety checkpoint.

The DUI checkpoint was held on Alameda De Las Pulgas at the intersection of Camino Al Lago and between the hours of 6pm and 1am.

During the checkpoint, a total of 219 drivers were screened for operating motor vehicles while intoxicated. Of these vehicles, three drivers were cited for operating a vehicle while unlicensed and one individual was arrested on charges related to suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

DUI checkpoint locations are considered based on reported incidents of impaired driving, related crashes and the ability to safely conduct the checkpoint operation. The primary purpose of a DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
