ATHERTON ELECTIONS:

The nomination period for candidates opens on Monday, July 13th and closes on August 7th. Nomination papers and Declaration of Candidacy forms are available by appointment at the City Clerk Office. We are encouraging candidates to arrange virtual appointments. The City Clerk Office is located at Holbrook-Palmer Park, 150 Watkins Avenue, Atherton, CA 94027.

Atherton Police Department News

The Atherton Police Department is proud to welcome several new additions and one promotion to #TeamAtherton.

Sergeant David Metzger was promoted to his new rank of Sergeant and sworn in by Chief McCulley this month. David has a long tenure with the department and brings a wealth of experience and well-rounded knowledge.

Officer Nik Torres completed the Police Academy at the College of San Mateo in January. He proudly served our Country as a member of the United States Army for 10 years. He is joining the APD following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Captain George Stanton who worked for APD in the 1980's.

Officer Igor Davidovich graduated from the South Bay Regional Training Consortium Police Academy, finishing near the top of his class. He speaks fluent Russian and has a love of the outdoors.

Dispatcher Gabriela Abarca joins us after having served in a volunteer capacity with Menlo Park and San Jose Police Departments working at the substation and with the truancy program. She is bi-lingual in English and Spanish and will transfer to San Jose State to complete her BA.

We will have two new officers joining on Monday, July 13th. Officer Jose Yamsuan joins us after working with Alameda and Menlo Park Police Departments. Officer Vaneesh Kumar joins us after serving as a Community Service Officer and Police Officer with the City of Menlo Park. Join us in welcoming our new team members.
