The City Council will hold a Regular Meeting on Wednesday, June 16th at 6PM. The City Council will be considering approval of the FY 21-22 Budget. To view the agenda when published visit: City Council Agenda





Town Events


The Town of Atherton's Police Department will be hosting the annual National Night Out. on Tuesday, August 3rd at Holbrook-Palmer Park. 

The event will take place under the County and State Guidelines in place at the time that may require face coverings and social distancing protocols. This will be an event for the whole family.  More details will be shared in the coming weeks!

Summer Hazards & First Aid 


To help Atherton prepare for wildfire season, at the June A.D.A.P.T. Community Meeting will review a refresher summer hazards. Then we’ll cover first aid, with practical skills for everyday life and a disaster. Look forward to seeing you there!

Bike Fest

Biketivist Forum VII 


The Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition will be hosting a forum called Biketivist Forum VII - Bike Plans: Inception to Completion. This will be June 16th at 5 PM.  The forum will be in four parts: Inception, Making of the Plan, Approval, and Community Participation.

Atherton Police Department News


Join the Town in welcoming our the latest addition to the Atherton Police Department, Jon Fong.  Sergeant Fong joins the Town after serving Stanford University Department of Public Safety for the last 12 years. 

Sergeant Fong served in several roles including Motor Patrol and Investigations. #AthertonPoliceDepartment 



The APD shared updates about recent burglaries in Town and offered some best practices and tips to burglary prevention.  The tips include ensuring that your property has sufficient lighting around the perimeter to serve as a deterrent to theft.  To read more visit: APD Burglary Tips.

A.D.A.P.T Emergency Preparedness Tips 


In your cache and emergency bags, be sure to check food and medical supply expiration dates. Do this quarterly or on the same cadence as when you need to switch out your smoke alarm batteries.

Caltrain Updates


On June 5 to June 11, Caltrain will be working during the day to install conduit. Caltrain will be working during the night to install foundations and locate underground utilities. The field team will work as quietly as possible. Caltrain is conducting work in Atherton that will require lane closures. To learn more, please visit the Resource page. 



Weekly Atherton "Did You Know?"


Did you know..... The Atherton Police Department (APD) tracked 6 Auto v. Bike collisions in 2020 which was a reduction from 2019 which had 14. To learn more about data reported by the APD - Click Here.
