Updates on Housing Element: Existing ADU Community Survey and Community Workshop

There are two new ways for residents to get involved and to share feedback with the Town. 

1) Existing ADU Community Survey: Look out for a letter from City Manager George Rodericks inviting you to take the Town's Existing Accessory Dwelling Unit Survey. If you prefer to take the digital survey, please fill out the four-questions here:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5GPXM7Z

We appreciate your participation in this survey. To the extent possible, the information you provide will be kept solely for statistical purposes to assist the Town in its planning efforts and meeting the State’s Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) requirements.

2) Community Workshop on Monday, June 19 at 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers: The Town of Atherton with M-Group will facilitate a workshop on Atherton's Housing Element. The workshop will share additional Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) analysis required by the State and present multi-family housing strategies for potential inclusion in the Atherton Housing Element. The purpose of this workshop is to receive feedback from the community on preferred multi-family housing strategies. Staff will then consider this feedback in advance of presenting recommendations to the City Council at a subsequent public meeting. Rock Out to Mercy and the Heartbeats on June 15

The last concert for the Summer will be Mercy & The Heartbeats, a dance band comprised of musicians from some of the most popular and successful dance and touring bands in the Bay Area and beyond. If you've got Mercy, then you've got all your favorite songs - 70’s and 80's classics, 90's singalongs, and the most current radio hits. A band not to be missed! Their talents have taken them all over the world to entertain everyone from the United States military to the executives and employees of companies big and small (Google, Twitter, Salesforce, Genentech, Apple, Dell, etc). They’ve played every size event and venue there is - 50 person weddings in intimate barns, sold out shows at the Fillmore - even the Jimmy Kimmel Show! And now, the members of Mercy & The Heartbeats bring their talents together to entertain you!

Music will start at around 5 PM following the Toad Activities. What's for dinner? Vana Maria BBQ will be serving their California Style BBQ fired on a handmade Santa Maria Grill! Can't wait to see you there!

Serve on a Town Committee or Commission

Atherton Community Members! Your participation is critical to the City Council’s and Town staff’s success in serving the community. One great way to participate is by joining one of the citizen advisory bodies established by our City Council. Browse all Committees and the Planning Commission on our website here. With many terms coming to an end in June, there are either current or upcoming vacancies in each of our advisory bodies.

Make your service extra special by volunteering the year of our centennial! Volunteering to serve on one of the Town’s committees is a great opportunity to learn about local government, help influence decisions, and provide recommendations to City leaders. Apply today!
