Get Support to Rent Your ADU from HIP Housing

Renting your accessory dwelling unit (ADU) can change your life and the life of another local resident including your children’s teachers, students, professionals, and seniors. The Town has partnered with HIP Housing to offer an ADU Match Program to connect you with the perfect renter for your unique situation. HIP Housing is a trusted local partner that has provided housing and Home Sharing services in San Mateo County since 1972. HIP helps you find a renter in a safe and supportive way by:

  • Conducting one on one interviews
  • Completing background checks
  • Verifying renter income
  • Developing a comprehensive agreement
  • Offering follow-up support

And if you're considering building an ADU, our program will be here to support you in finding a renter when you’re ready! Click the image below to get started today!

Did you know?

The San Mateo County Libraries has been offering plenty to do this summer! All County libraries, including our Atherton Library, have introduced karaoke machines to their library of things. These machines are available on a first come, first served basis to borrow, and quickly flew off the shelves in the first week. In the meantime, there is so much more to borrow from the library, including: GoPros, sewing machines, bikes, ukuleles. Learn more here: https://smcl.org/blogs/post/try-it-out-introducing-karaoke-machines/.
