Know Your Zone to Better Prepare for Emergencies

Simply enter your address into an interactive map developed by Zonehaven showing all 300+ San Mateo County evacuation zones. Once you find your zone, record your zone number and review zone details before the next emergency to be better informed.

In the event of an emergency, first responders will use Zonehaven to plan and execute evacuations both large and small. They have access to real-time weather, traffic and fire information, and the ability model traffic and fire spread scenarios. From Zonehaven, public safety officials will update the community with zone-specific information on the map including up-to-date evacuation status, live incident updates, and relevant resources such as shelter options. West Nile Virus Information and Resources

The San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District is responding to the presence of West Nile virus in our region. Spreading through the bite of an infected mosquito, the virus can cause disease in humans, horses, and birds, making people sick and sometimes causing death

Most people who contract the virus have mild or no symptoms and will recover quickly, but older adults and immunocompromised people are at higher risk for severe disease. West Nile virus does not spread through coughing, sneezing or person-to-person contact.

The best way to prevent infection is to protect yourself from mosquito bites. More information and resources from San Mateo County Health: https://www.smchealth.org/west-nile-virus
