The City Council will not have a meeting in August. The next scheduled City Council meeting will be on September 4, 2024. The Town will publish agenda's no less than 72 hours before the meeting and it can be viewed by clicking here.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT IS AN ANNUAL COMMUNITY-BUILDING CAMPAIGN THAT PROMOTES POLICE-COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS AND NEIGHBORHOOD CAMARADERIE.

Housing Element Update 


The Planning Commission discussed the 2023-2031 Housing Element and Zoning Code Updates. The discussion included the proposed updates include revisions to the 6th Cycle of the Town of Atherton's Housing Element, a Zoning Ordinance and Map Amendment to implement the policies and programs of the Housing Element, including objective design standards and development standards for multifamily housing (density, height, setbacks and parking, etc.), and adoption of an Inclusionary Housing Ordinance.  To review all of the documents click here.



San Mateo County 

Have Unwanted Electronics and Clothing? The County Has a Place for Them

  • Donate your electronics and clothing at Saturday’s upcoming recycling event. The event, sponsored by the County’s Sustainability Department is free and open to all San Mateo County residents.
  • Accepted items: small appliances and electronics (microwaves, hairdryers, vacuum cleaners, lamps without bulbs, phones, laptops, etc.), clothing, shoes, accessories (scarves, ties, hats), towels, decorative pillows, blankets and comforters and curtains.
  • NOT accepted items: batteries of any kind, fluorescent lights, large appliances (stoves, dryers, washing machines, air conditioners, refrigerators), smoke detectors, solar panels, thermostats, bed sheets, bed pillows or extremely dirty clothing.
  • Year-round recycling information is available at sustainsmc.org
  • Both working and non-working electronics are accepted. Working ones will be donated to local Goodwill stores.
