Police Department News


Police Department regularly sends information via alerts and Newsflashes. Some of these communications are routine and inform the community about upcoming events and others more urgent and related to burglaries or traffic issues. We encourage all residents to subscribe to Notify Me - Police Department - click here. You can elect to receive a text message or email notification. 

The Police Department oversees the Transportation, Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Committee. One of the items reviewed by this Town Committee are monthly traffic reports. To review September, October, and November reports - click here.

Tree

Atherton Tree City 


The Town has been a recognized as an Official Tree City in the US for 34 years.  The Arbor Day Foundation recognizes communities annually that look to plant, nurture and celebrate trees. To learn more about the Arbor Day Foundation - click here or the Town's Tree Committee - click here.

Town-wide Survey 


The City Council awarded a contract to conduct a community wide survey in May 2024. The team of consultants and staff have nearly completed the preparation work to release the survey at beginning of 2024. 

The Town will release the results making the data available via an interactive dashboard. We want your feedback!

When: Friday, December 13 at 3 PM - 6PM 

Where: Atherton Library Deck (2 Dinkelspiel Station Ln) 

The Town will host the annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Celebration on December 13 starting at 3 PM. Join us for hot coco, coffee and treats, a visit with Santa, and activities hosted by the Atherton Library and Friends of the Library.

Crafternoon: Pressed Flower Ornaments (Children)

 Join us for our crafternoon making pressed flower ornaments. We will use air dry clay and pressed flowers to make beautiful flower art creations!
 This program is part of our Power Up Afternoon series. No registration is required, as supplies last.

Letters Against Isolation Writing Party

With the holiday season upon us, join us in writing letters to seniors who could use a bit of extra cheer with Letters Against Isolation. We will provide blank cards, envelopes, and supplies to write and decorate your letters. Folks of all ages are welcome to join and write as many letters as supplies allow!

Musical Jamboree With Stay and Play!

 It’s a musical jamboree! Join us as we make music together in this silly, song-and-dance-filled storytime for all ages. This event will be held in the children's room at the Atherton Library. After Storytime, join us for Stay and Play where kids and their caregivers can practice interpersonal skills, and have fun learning to share and socialize!

Fall Prevention: Turn Awareness Into Action

 Falls are not a normal part of aging. Most falls are preventable. Come and learn about ways to avoid falls and turn awareness into action. Janel has spent the last 17 years of her nursing career in community health nursing and education. She is passionate about offering evidence-based health promotion programs. She believes in collaborative, person-centered learning with the goal of providing knowledge that empowers the individual to make small, but steady, prevention-based behavior change.
