Police Community Meeting - Thursday 1/31

Please join Chief McCulley and his Department to discuss the recent home and auto burglaries in Town. The meeting will be held at the Pavilion in Holbrook-Palmer Park at 7 PM on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

Other Topics include: recent home and auto burglaries, crime prevention tools and information, alarm systems, free alarm monitoring by the Police Department, residential security camera registration, the PD records management system (Citizen RIMS), how best to receive timely information from the Town and Police Department (Newsflashes, San Mateo County Emergency Alerts, Town email, Social media platforms), how crime reporting works, and much more!

Tips for Home Security from APD

Keeping your home and family safe is important, whether you're at home or away. Installing a security camera system can help. There are different kinds of security cameras to choose from, including wired and wireless security cameras. Wired security cameras are hardwired to a power source, so you never have to worry about the batteries running low.

Home security cameras may be used for monitoring a baby, catching a burglar, deterring criminals, and, most importantly, giving you peace of mind. The activity you want to observe will help dictate the type of security cameras you may want to purchase.

Walsh Road Siren Test

The Atherton Police Department, in conjunction with the Menlo Park Fire Protection District, will be activating the Walsh Road Emergency Siren on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 9:00 am. The test should last approximately 1 minute.

This test is necessary to ensure the proper function of the Walsh Road Emergency Siren in case of an actual emergency.

During the test, if within range, you can expect to hear an extended "beep beep beep" tone.

Demolition of Public Works Buildings

The Town has contracted with Central Valley Environmental (CVE) to begin demolishing the Public Works building and empty Building trailer behind the permit center, and removal of the generator starting on this Monday, January 28.
