Upper Atherton Channel Flood Mitigation Project

Description

The project proposes to reduce the flooding and overtopping of Alameda de las Pulgas during peak flow events and mitigate impacts from flooding by increasing the capacity of the existing box culvert under Alameda de las Pulgas and constructing a detention basin at Las Lomitas School. Additionally, the project proposes to install in-stream monitors approximately 1 mile upstream of the culvert within the Town’s drainage easement.

Funding

This project is partially funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Legislative Pre-Disaster Management Program.
